Free Movement Class (Term 3)
This is a Complementary – Drop-in Class – Open to all registered users. Purchase any course to access.
This free course is offered to all enrolled Dharma College students. We will practice some gentle moving exercises, breathing techniques and relaxation to promote balance and a sense of connection and calm. Movements are generally done slowly allowing us to feel directly and then relax into what we’re experiencing. The unique value of this way of working is not just bringing together the physical and psychological approaches to movement and wellbeing but, with practice, encouraging us to integrate body and mind in all our activities.
Classes meet online for six weeks. Each 45 minute session
will generally include simple sitting movements and a practice standing up.
Breathing practice and awareness of body sensation will both be included as a
way to encourage relaxation.
