"Moment by moment by moment, dynamically still, Feeling, Breathing and Knowing are manifesting in Space. Where are you!?"
In this free class for anyone studying at Dharma College, we will practice some gentle moving exercises, breathing techniques and relaxation to promote balance and a sense of connection and calm. Body movement exercises are generally done slowly allowing us to feel directly and then relax into what we’re experiencing. "Steadily bringing attention into sensation, through movement and stillness, we can gradually find calm stability. In partnership with a deepening understanding of mind, from other Dharma College courses, this centeredness can then blossom towards embodied clarity... being feeling, being breathing, being knowing."
Format
Classes meet online for six weeks. Each 45 minute session will generally include simple sitting movements and a practice standing up. Breathing practice and awareness of body sensation will both be included as a way to encourage relaxation.
Ideally have some room to move (rather than being ‘desk bound’) especially for the standing exercises. A chair can be used for sitting practices or, if comfortable for you, a meditation cushion on the floor.
