EVENTS
Public Conversations, Gatherings, and Living Inquiry
Dharma College offers more than courses. Throughout the year, we host public events—talks, workshops, conversations, and gatherings—where contemplative practice meets the realities of modern life.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, searching for clarity, or wanting a more meaningful way to engage your life—these events are a place to begin.
These are spaces to pause and reorient. To step out of habit and into a different quality of attention. Here, ancient teachings are not presented as ideas to adopt, but as living inquiries—tested against the immediacy of work, relationship, uncertainty, and change.
In-Person Events
Deepening our understanding of ourselves through spiritual development training opens the door to transformation. When we start to explore our thoughts and our identity, we can release old patterns, expand our awareness, and create a space for greater clarity and connection. This allows us to engage more thoroughly with daily life and encourages personal growth as well as new insights.
Berkeley Circle
The Berkeley Circle is a curated, invitation-only conversation series exploring the meeting point of contemplative wisdom and contemporary thought. Bringing together voices from science, philosophy, the arts, and lived practice, each gathering invites thoughtful dialogue that is both rigorous and open. Rather than seeking answers, the Circle creates space for shared inquiry into how we live with clarity, responsibility, and care in a changing world.
Book Club at Lotus Bookstore
A quieter space for reflection and exchange.
The Dharma College Book Club is an intimate, in-person gathering centered on slow reading and shared inquiry. Together, we explore texts that open questions about mind, meaning, ethics, and human experience. Conversation is central. There are no lectures—only thoughtful dialogue shaped by the perspectives in the room.
Open to all who are curious, whether familiar with the teachings or encountering them for the first time.
CoWorking with Wisdom
Work, approached differently.
Coworking with Wisdom offers a contemplative workspace in Berkeley for those who want to integrate focus, awareness, and community into their working lives.
Alongside dedicated work time, the space includes opportunities for meditation and connection – supporting clarity, balance, and a more intentional relationship to work itself.
Here, productivity is not separate from presence.
A Living Community of Practice
Across all of these offerings runs a simple thread:
To create spaces where insight can be explored, experience can deepen, and community can form in ways that are relevant to the world we live in.
Whether you join a public talk, a small circle, or a shared workspace, you are stepping into an ongoing conversation—one that continues beyond any single event.
