Course Description
In a world marked by constant change, uncertainty, and division, many of us long for peace yet struggle to know how to cultivate it in the midst of everyday life.
How do we remain steady when circumstances are difficult? How do we respond to conflict without becoming reactive? How do we meet life’s challenges with wisdom rather than fear?
Awakening the Balanced Mind offers a practical and deeply human exploration of what it means to cultivate inner balance in a rapidly changing world.
Drawing upon contemplative wisdom and Wangmo Dixey’s decades of experience integrating spiritual practice with active engagement in the world, this six-week course explores peace not as an ideal or distant goal, but as a trainable quality of mind and heart that can be developed in the midst of daily life.
Through reflection, discussion, guided practices, and real-world examples, participants will discover how balance can be cultivated moment by moment—meeting stress, uncertainty, responsibility, and change with greater clarity, steadiness, compassion, and confidence.
Rather than withdrawing from life, this course invites us to engage more fully with it, learning how the challenges we face can become opportunities for growth, wisdom, and transformation.
Peace is not found by escaping the world. It is discovered through learning how to meet the world with a balanced mind.
