How can we know mind more directly, without the conceptual structures that limit ways of knowing and being? If we could place a ‘Ladder of Understanding’ in mind, and climb up and down through levels of ‘knowledge-ability’, where would we place it? Join us for this intriguing online exploration of new ways of understanding self and reality.

No class on November 21st.

This online course is fully interactive; we discuss and practice as though we are together in a classroom. Classes are recorded and students receive a link if they have to miss. Maximum class size is 15. Pre-registration is required.

We continue our year-long study of the structure of mind, time, and self, guided by Dimensions of Mind and Keys of Knowledge. These recent books by Tibetan Lama Tarthang Tulku open a path to wholeness, which, as the author says, “is never wholly for our selves. For real wholeness is always communicated to others in spreading ripples of positive influence and deep appreciation.

No class on November 22nd.

Students who have not taken ‘Path to Wholeness’ before may enroll this term with the consent of the Instructor.

Hidden Dimensions of Mind: Dialogues With Mind

Wednesdays, November 1st – December 13th , 7:00 – 8:30 pm
Instructor: Jack Petranker

New and returning students are warmly invited to attend this second term of a year-long course based on Dimensions of Mind, an accessible yet sophisticated text written in the form of a dialogue between teacher and student. Taught by Jack Petranker, the book’s editor, this course introduces a path of self-observation “in which mind freely dialogues with mind.” This term we begin to examine what the text calls the “Gateway Structures” of ordinary human experience: ‘I’, ‘Me’, ‘Mine’ and ‘Mind’.

No class on November 22nd.

Open to everyone!  New students may try the first class with no obligation.

If we become acquainted with the thoughts and emotions that limit us, and transform them as they arise, we have a key to a new way of being in the world. In this course, we begin to see how that may be possible, as we work with practices that free us from stale patterns, opening heart and mind.

No class on November 23rd.

New students may try the first class with no obligation.

Revealing Mind

Instructor: Abbe Blum

Time agitates and confuses us. Worried by its constant passage, we become stuck in the past and anxious about the future. This course explores the experience of time in a way that has very practical consequences for our lives. When we begin to examine more closely, we discover that past, present, and future are not as fixed as they seem, and that growth and creativity depend on the open knowingness of ‘now’.

No class on November 25th.

New students may try the first class with no obligation.
